For my friends and friends who are family: A visual and textual summary of my attempt to renovate a 130 year old home suffering from a poorly executed earlier renovation. My thoughts, plans, missteps, budget constraints, points of inspiration, successes and requisite before and after photos will be captured within. Look forward to your feedback and opinions - but wholly acknowledge that this is my little pet project, and not as interesting to anyone else as it is to me! Love, Kim

Landscaping in the Snow on April 15th
Thank you to Corrie Schaffer and the crew at Chicago Exteriors for braving the elements today and getting the landscaping party underway. Corrie has been terrific to work with the last few months - and has developed a plan that will be iterative (e.g. as budget allows). We're starting with the basics - grading, a path from garage to house, a patio, sod, and a few plantings. The next phase will include lighting and plantings, and eventually we'll get to irrigation.
