This room grew in size by about five feet when I extended the rafters across a previously open space….and made a world of difference:  a queen sized bed, dresser, and good sized end tables now fit comfortably.   I hedged on the deep Navy for a bluer-gray tone that looks terrific.  No furniture or linen was purchased for the space, and I went for the cheap and cheerful rug vs. the bolder, more expensive choice.

A Rug Dilemma - Upstairs Guest Room  Planning: A Navy and White Guest Room
Before:  Tiny, uncomfortable (to get into bed one had to duck), a bit dark, some goofy angles, and could only accommodate a full sized bed.
